“Decoding Mental Rubrics” by Dr. Gaurang is completely a new concept. In this book he has conceived the idea to correlate the mind symptoms of the patient with the building blocks of the repertory i.e. rubrics. Inspired by many other famous homoeopathic practitioners he has carefully jotted down the symptoms of the mind and its finest expressions in the rubric form as narrated in various repertories.

NHR Apr-Sept 2019: Effect of Individualized Homoeopathic medicine in Psoriasis: A Case Report

Psoriasis is a disorder of the immune system. It is an inflammatory skin condition which affects around 3% of the population. It can affect any age-group but mostly between 11 to 60 years. The cause behind psoriasis is not well understood but it has been observed that various emotional factors such as stress, trauma, shock or deprivation are capable of triggering it. Homoeopathic medicines have been found to be useful in treating such cases. One such case, treated using homoeopathic medicines is presented in this paper with photographic evidence.  The patient was treated with constitutional homoeopathic medicine – Natrum muriaticum 30C followed by 200C potency with follow-up of 16 months. This case report suggests that constitutional homoeopathic medicine prescribed on the basis of totality of symptoms can be a promising treatment option for patients suffering from psoriasis.

NHR Apr-Sept 2019: Vitiligo of long standing and its successful homoeopathic treatment: A case report

Vitiligo is one of the causes of Hypo pigmentation. This is an acquired disease with progressive nature. Diseases of thyroid gland occur up to 30% of patients with vitiligo. This is a case of 53 years old, Hindu male, who is suffering from vitiligo in both the legs, for last 20 years. After being treated by individualized homoeopathic medicine, Lachesis in 50-millesimal potencies for about 20 months, marked recovery has ensued. Assessment with Modified Naranjo Criteria suggests a definite association between the medicine and the outcome. The patient has visited for the last time on Dec 19, 2018, complete cure is expected if treatment is continued.

NHR Apr-Sept 2019: Original Research: A cross-sectional study to find out the prevalence of obesity in children taking excessive dietary sodium and the effect of Natrium muriaticum on presenting complaints in such cases

A cross-sectional study for finding the prevalence of obesity among children taking excessive dietary sodium as well as a prospective clinical study to assess the effects of Natrium muriaticum for their presenting complaint was carried out at the paeditric outpatient department of National Institute of Homoeopathy. Multiple 24-hr dietary recall interviews were done for screening patients. The BMI chart developed by the National Center for Health Statistics in collaboration with National Centre for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (2000) for boys and girls separately from 2-20 years was used. In managing the cases, Natrium muriaticum was given. A careful detailed history was taken in each case.

An open-label, randomized, pilot clinical trial was conducted to know the effectiveness of Allium sativum mother tincture (Ø) in comparison with individualized homoeopathic (IH) medicines in the treatment of dyslipidemia. Forty individuals aged between 35 and 60 years and of both sexes were included after being diagnosed as having dyslipidemia and fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Follow ups were taken after one month for at least 6 visits.
