Since inception of homoeopathy, it has remained one of the most controversial forms of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies. Till date, it faces stern criticism on account of dearth of scientific evidences supporting homoeopathy, mostly on account of indifference and lack of sensitization towards research methods and application of biostatistics. For the first time in homoeopathy, the authors have undertaken such a gigantic effort in exploring this area. The authors present here fourteen chapters with commendable and lucid explanation and vivid exemplification. The utmost care with which the book is written is really praiseworthy.

The initial chapters enlighten the readers about the homoeopathic approach to philosophy and include discussion on ethics, aesthetics, logic, epistemology, and meta-physics. It also encompasses discussions on scientific method, e.g. collection of data, arrangement, and interpretation, formulating and verifying hypothesis and laws. The third and fourth chapters elaborate different direct and indirect methods of testing consequences and depict beautifully how it applies to the field of homoeopathy. Next, the authors wonderfully detailed the concepts of descriptive statistics with examples from homoeopathic parlance. Then inferential statistics comes up with examples of various statistical tests. Finally the authors arrive at the most crucial chapter on homoeopathic research writing. First they warn about the design flaws and mistakes to avoid, then focuses on how to write a research paper with some examples of how to take up exploratory researches. The book ends with very useful appendices of statistical tables and a ready reference list for further study

This very interesting and important book should be in possession of every serious student, postgraduate scholars, researchers, faculties, and practitioner of Homoeopathy. This book is written in simple English that makes it an effortless study material. In spite of ample opportunities of improvement, this book can be considered as complete by itself and can be a useful guide for the students, teachers and researchers in homoeopathic medicine and without any doubt should find a place in every homoeopathic medical college library. The publisher is to be congratulated also for bringing this valuable edition at a competitive price. With this book, the author has paved the way of a fresh start of scientific approach in evidence-based homoeopathy.
